This Spring, we need you! – Come and join us in our Global race to #BeatHF
Pumping Marvellous are setting off on our World Tour, and we need your help!
The Pumping Marvellous Foundation is a UK wide charity, with global reach, looking to build awareness of heart failure and amplify and support our educational programmes. We ask that you consider supporting our cause.
As the UK’s patient led Heart Failure charity, we offer support to all people living with Heart Failure in the UK and beyond. Our goal is to raise awareness of Heart Failure to work hand in hand with leading Heart Failure Specialists, Nurses Governments and Academics whilst providing a support network for patients.
Your contribution could help us in succeeding with our challenge.
On the 20th of March 2021, we will launch a Virtual Global Race to Beat Heart Failure. Pumping Marvellous are setting off on our World Tour, and we need your help. Competitors will be uploading distances completed by running, swimming, cycling, dog walking, mowing the lawn and just pottering around the house so that together we can travel around the world.
Entrants can register as an individual or as part of a team. Participants will track their progress on our map, along with their team and our overall collective charity miles. We are planning events throughout the year with stages between locations and prizes for winning individuals and teams.
We want everyone to turn their everyday movements into miles and help us travel around the world. Your contributions will help make it possible for us to complete our global race and raise awareness of Heart Failure to #BeatHF.
A little more about Heart Failure and Pumping Marvellous Foundation
We are an agile and dynamic charity that gets to the heart of the matter for nearly 1,000,000 people in the UK.
With a timely diagnosis, Heart Failure is treatable. With the right support, patients can live better for longer. Unfortunately, Heart Failure is not widely understood, leading to delays in diagnosis and is yet is more common than many people realise:
- 1 in 4 people will have to deal with Heart Failure at some point in their lives
- 2% of all A&E / ED admissions are related to Heart Failure in the NHS in the UK
- Prognosis is worse than most forms of common cancer like breast or prostate
- Between 30-40% of people die within 12 months of a diagnosis
- Average time from initial GP appointment to diagnosis is 20 weeks, but many are waiting much longer
