Who is eligible…

Our patient educators are not only people with the condition or their carers, they can be healthcare professionals or anybody who contributes to the charity where that contribution has an impact. You need to demonstrate a track record of commitment to the charity’s objectives and this will be assessed by the Patient Board.

Being a patient educator is a responsible position and to represent the charity at events and in a formal capacity you need to go through a process. Please see the points to the right.

Formal Training

You will be required to go through a two day residential course at our offices where we will give you all the tools to be a safe and effective patient educator. We run our courses on a bi-yearly basis and are invitation only.

In order to satisfy our rigorous compliance around “volunteering” we will require you to undergo an enhanced DBS check and a signed commitment to our governance.
